Phil Meadows: Co-Managing Director

Born and raised in Bolton, Lancashire, Meadows is a multi-award winning saxophonist, composer, orchestrator and conductor. His forward-thinking Engines Orchestra project has led to international collaborations and the founding of the organisation as a registered charity and he is currently on the Creative Advisory Board for Help Musicians (the UK's biggest independent music charity) and an advisor for PRS For Music Foundation. On top of this, he's also a keen educator with roles as a Lecturer in Music for the University of Kent, as a Musical Director with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra's Academy Programme and a CHASE funded PhD scholar.

Christopher Barrett: Co-Managing Director

Christopher Barrett is a tuba player, bandleader, poet, producer, and explorer of the electric tuba. He runs the PTC Record Label, and is active as a freelance musician, composer, and teacher in London, playing in a variety of both classical and non-classical contexts. Chris was recently featured at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club with Arthur Lea’s Bootleg Trio, played on the chart-topping “Glitterball” with Sigma/Ella Henderson, David Gray's The Sapling, Duke Dumont at the BBC Live Lounge, as well as performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, Cassie Kinoshi's Mercury Award nominated SEED Ensemble, and Ensemble of the Golden Bough. He is also responsible for extra-curricular music at The University of Kent, Medway Campus.

Lia Breingan

Lia is a harpist, violinist, and singer, who has worked predominantly in the arts sector, with experience ranging from artist management to coordination of opera companies. Lia read music at KCL where she ran the university’s symphony orchestra (KCLSO) and King’s Baroque, alongside being a choral scholar in the chapel choir. She continued her studies at Oxford (MSt Musicology), where she sang as a choral scholar (Merton College). Live performance is a key aspect of Lia’s life, and she has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as St-Martin-in-the-Fields, St John’s Smith Square, Kings Place, LSO St Lukes, Cadogan hall, to name a few. Music has taken Lia around the world, to the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, and around Europe, and she is infinitely grateful for those opportunities.

Marithé Van Der Aa

Marithé is a Flemish music scholar, composer, and award-winning vocalist based in London. She studied music performance at the Berlin conservatoire Hanns Eisler, after which she completed a Master’s degree in Musicology at the University of Oxford. She has presented her research at various different conferences across the UK, and is involved in multiple artistic projects, such as the voice electronics project H+-, chamber trio Elusive Aura, and her own contemporary jazz ensemble. For the past year, she has been working for BBC Radio 3 and BBC Audio Drama as a New Talent Production Apprentice, where she has worked across a wide range of productions as a producer, assistant producer and sound designer. With a keen interest in interactive audio, she also works as an audio programmer and creative sound designer for independently developed video games and XR experiences.

Samuel Moore

Hailed as “A fantastic flamenco guitarist” (BBC Radio 3), Samuel Moore is fast establishing himself as one of Europe’s leading flamenco musicians. In 2019 he recorded his début album ‘Guitar, The Heart of Spain’ at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. When not on tour or recording, Samuel enjoys passing on his musical knowledge through teaching. Previously he served as ‘Course Leader for Flamenco Guitar Studies’ at the Instituto de Cervantes (2012-2017), the Spanish government’s international institute for language and culture. Furthermore, Samuel has also led workshops at The University of Cambridge, The University of Leeds, Newcastle University and International Guitar Foundation events. Samuel has a breadth of experience managing arts organisations in the UK. Notably, he served as Director of Music at Arts@Trinity, Holy Trinity Church, Leeds (2012-2018). Samuel’s other notable achievements include establishing and overseeing the Leeds International Flamenco Festival between 2013 and 2017.
